THE ARTS:
Provides enrichment experiences in language,
visual and performing arts for local youngsters. The Tacoma Links provide experiences designed to increase
their awareness and appreciation. |

INTERNATIONAL TRENDS AND SERVICES:
Seeks to increase awareness of global concerns, to understand
and appreciate other cultures, and to render assistance that will make a significant difference in the quality of
life of others. The focus is Africa. The Chapter adopted the village of Amazu Ikapakwa in Nigeria and elected
to fulfill a crucial need - a permanent source of pure, potable water; and transported books, school supplies,
first aid items and 500 prescription eyeglasses. |

NATIONAL TRENDS AND SERVICES:
Addresses an array of issues and needs that
disproportionately affect African Americans from health screening for diabetes to organ and tissue donation education, prevention of
Sudden Infant Death Syndrome and nutrition. This facet also promotes activities that celebrate African American
history, heritage, culture and current issues such as homelessness, voter registration, walkathons and program promoting healthier living, mind, body and soul. |

SERVICES TO YOUTH:
Provides experiences in the area of self-esteem, education,
citizenship and life skills. Programs include tutoring classes to increase SAT and WASL scores which encourage academic
excellence; and the Youth and Law Forum where students interact positively with professional community role models, and
present skits involving life encounters with the law, role-play as judges, lawyers and correctional officers. |
